WHY DO VOLCANOES ERUPT?
WHY DO VOLCANOES ERUPT?
by Heather Handley
Why Do Volcanoes Erupt, by Heather Handley, teaches about why volcanoes erupt, how much they destroy, and the good things volcanoes do. First, I learned that volcanic magma destroys fruit trees and plants, meaning that the fruit has to grow again. Another important fact I learned is that volcanoes are in the middle of tectonic plates. Next, I also learned the ash from the volcano is super dangerous and unhealthy. For example, if a plane flies through ash, the engine would die. Ash can spread up to 1000 miles. Finally, I learned that the ash is actually good for the plants.
I like this book because it gave me not too much information, but not too little information. This book made me want to learn more about volcanoes and what they change in an environment. This book made me think about how volcanoes are both good and bad. While volcanoes seem scary to us, they are good for some part of the environment.
Great job Hunter! These books aren't the easiest to summarize, and you did it beautifully! Keep up the good work! Mr. H
