Ranger in Time D-Day on the Beach

         Ranger in Time D-Day on the Beach, by Kate Messner, tells about a golden retriever who travels through time to D-Day. The main character is Ranger.  Ranger always works to help people and saves lives. Ranger wants to finish his job. However, he keeps getting more tasks. Ranger ends up helping a soldier named Walt. He leads him to drowning people, leads him through a minefield, and helps with the blimps. Ranger also helps a Jewish boy named Leo, by helping him through the destroyed house and through a minefield. Does Ranger get them to safety?

I like this book because it tells about D-Day, and what soldiers had to go through at that time. Another thing I like about this book is it has so many details in one day. I have a personal connection to this book. My dad worked for the U.S. AIR FORCE COMBAT CONTROL and the U.S. AIR FORCE.
