Fig Pudding

 

Fig Pudding, a chapter book by Ralph Fletcher, tells the story of a boy and big family. The main character of the book is named Cliff, a 11 year old boy. All he wanted was his brother to die.However it is not possible to beg someone back for the dead. So his family got back on their feet to fight back the pain. Then =they had their first Christmas without ????, the boy who passed away, it was not easy for them. Read this book to learn about Cliff's life.

I like this book because it tells a funny and sad story. A funny part is Cliff's little brother what's a “yidda yadda” for Christmas. However, no one knows what it is. They figure out it means “little ladder”. But there are some sad times in the story like Cliff's brother dies because he rode his bike into a park ambulance. As you can see Fig Pudding is funny, but also sad.
