Flying Solo

   

      Flying Solo, a chapter book written by Ralph Fletcher describes how a class who runs the classroom when their teacher doesn't arrive. The main character of the book is a girl named Rachel who is in 6th grade. Rachel lost her voice because a boy in her class died. However, she can’t figure out how to get her voice back. Then one dad, the teacher, never came to school. So the kids took over class, and it was not the best idea. Read this book to find out if Rachel will get her voice back, and what will happen to the class. 

I like this book because it was very straightforward. To prove this the whole story was basically in the classroom. Also I really like how it talked a lot about each of the characters. I also like how it was a surprise that Rachel talked out loud. Finally I like how they made the story funny like the character that says “opinion” or “fact”.
