Knucklehead

                                                                 

    Knucklehead, by Jon Scieszka, described how six brothers get along. To begin with, their dad was a principal, but luckily they didn't go to that school. A funny story they had was they were all in the car, and one of the brothers said I need to go to the bathroom. Then all five other brothers joined him. One of the weirdest stories was when they went to their mom's work. They didn’t know that their mom worked with pregnant ladies. They thought that was super lame because there were no cool gadgets like x-rays. However, they did find a model of a baby. At first, they thought it was a toy, but then they dropped it on accident and the baby bounced around the floor. Another weird and funny story was when they were “sword fighting.”  You probably think sword fighting with swords, but this was with pee. They all circled around the toilet and did the sword fight and one of them always said “Mom, John peed on me.” Another story was when John bought army men and there was an ad that said army men for $1 with all this cool stuff so John asked his dad to order it and he gave the $1. Then a few days later it came so he was so excited and the box was a tiny box. When he opened the box all his excitement went down the drain because all he saw were tiny army men. Then he came up with a brilliant idea to sell the army men to his brother for the price of $3. Finally, the best story was when they blew up army men and stuff with firecrackers. The firecrackers went inside the tank and then they would burn the piece of rope up. Then “boom boom” the tanks exploded with flying plastic everywhere. A friend told them the idea to light a plastic bag on fire and it will make the best bomb sounds ever, so they tried it. It did make the best bomb sounds. However, the plastic burned on the ground and stayed there forever. 

    I like this book because it had some funny and weird stories about John's life. One question I had is what jobs do they have now? A cool thing was that it actually had pictures of John and his family. It was interesting to see what John's family looks like. Most biography books tells facts about a person, but this one was telling life stories.
