Who Were the Tuskegee Airmen?

Who Were The Tuskegee Airmen, by Sheryl L Smith, tells about a group of men that were not allowed to serve in the Army. The Tuskegee Airmen were black men that wanted to serve in the Army. Tuskegee Airmen are famous for being the first black men to fly in the Army. Their squadron was named the Red Tails. However, it was hard to prove that all colors can fly in the Army. Then in WWII, the Tuskegee Airmen were the army flying. If you were a bomber, you would want to fly with the Red Tails. We know the Tuskegee Airmen for being the first black people to fly in the Army.

I like this book because I like the military. It was weird that they did not put them in the newspaper, only the black newspaper. I think the theme of this book is don't judge people by their color. I liked how they named their airplanes, the Red Tails sounds cool.
